THANK YOU

OUR ESTEEMED PARTNERS FOR GENEROUSLY SUPPORTING OUR VISION.

The Non-Violence Project Uganda is a youth empowerment non-profit organization working across Uganda’s schools and communities to prevent and reduce youth violence through Peace education, entrepreneurship, Sports and creative arts. We envision communities where young people are safe, inspired and engage in positive action.

Mission:

Inspire, motivate and engage youth to understand how to solve conflicts peacefully and positively impact their communities through peace building, education, sports, entrepreneurship and creative arts.

Our Vision:

Safer and healthier communities where young people are inspired in positive action

NVPU was established in Uganda in January 2011 by a team of youth living in the slums of Jinja committed to transform their violence ridden community through peace building and empowerment projects.        Over the years the organisation under the oversight and support of the global Non-Violence Project Foundation -  developed tailored peace education programs which currently impacts thousands of individuals in schools and communities across Uganda.

Our approach

Our approach is based on a belief in the trans-formative power of education and its potential to build and ensure a strong base for tolerance, empathy, acceptance and respect for human rights.                Our educational focus is based on both, prevention and intervention, and on measures that address root issues, rather than punish behavior or feed blame.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change  the world"  Nelson Mandela
